Google Docs is all that and more…

I’ve become rather attached to Google, using iGoogle as my home page, Gmail for regular personal email, YouTube for this site’s videos and wasting time watching other funny ones, Maps for directions and looking up telephone numbers, News mainly on my iGoogle page, and Docs so I can keep copies of important stuff online and not have to carry around hardware storage mediums (although an SD card is always in my phone). And a lot more…
If I’m not near a computer, I can get weather, directions, phone numbers, anything by simply sending a text message to GOOGL. And all this doesn’t cost anything because of their successful business model.
Most of you already knew about those features, and probably use a lot of them as well. But there’s a new one Google just released as an upgrade on their Google Docs program. The ability to create a survey, have it emailed out to people so they can fill it out in their email or a regular web page, and have that data collect in a spreadsheet for viewing in Docs. You can even add a Docs Forms widget to your iGoogle page, and see when new activity has hit the spreadsheet. Talk about cool!
This would be a great for surveys sent to internet customers, to get a feel of how well you’re doing as an internet manager/internet sales person.
Now I’ve looked at other software providers of online surveys, and they’re not as easy to set up (Google has always accented simple), not as quick, and not as FREE. So I’ve trialed them, but not used them. I believe I may actually use the Google version, however, and it doesn’t get branded with someone’s logo.
I’d like to hear if anyone else has/will try using their survey tool in Docs, because I think it could be truly powerful with very little effort and no cost. Tell me what you think!
Google is superpowerful and has tons and tons of other projects going on. Some other uses of Google can be found here.
